40-day fast and prayer!!!

Just felt that we need to be reminded of the 40 day prayer and fasting to align our hearts with the church to truly seek God in this season.

Remember to fast from:
1. TV
2. Computer games
3. One meal per day

And spend 1 hour praying:
10 min - Praise and worship + thanksgivings
10 min - Pray for yourself e.g. health, studies etc
10 min - Pray for your family (Biological and spiritual)
10 min - Pray for your marketplace i.e. School
10 min - Pray for Singapore (Use newspaper to get latest happenings)
10 min - Pray for the nations (Perhaps the country on your heart)

Let us make every effort to enter that Sabbath day. Truly as we draw close to Him, He will draw close to us.

Bless you guys with a fruitful and spirit-filled time this season. (",)

The DASH

THE DASH
by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoken of the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars, the house, the case,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard;
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's tru and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So when you eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?
The poem that Pastor Eugene shared during service which is also quite thought-provoking if you think about what others would say about you at your tomb. How do you think you will be remembered for? Did we make a significant mark in the lives of people and of ours? Something to ponder and reflect upon. :)
